Rabbi Eliezer Shenvald, Rosh HaYeshiva, studied
in Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav before moving to the Yeshivat
Hesder BaGolan.It is there that Rav Shenvald and his
wife Rabanit Malka, began their careers, educating for
over 20 years in the Golan Hesder Yeshiva .They later
moved their family to Moddiin, where Rav Shenvald
founded the Yeshivat Hesder Modiin. He also heads
Nachalat Shay - The Center for Jewish Identity, and
Machon Harel - Jewish Awareness in the IDF. Rabbi
Shenvald has served in multiple command positions
in the IDF and continues to serve as the Commander
of the IDF's General Staff Training Administration.
Rabbi Shenvald still reports for annual IDF reserve
duty. He has written more than twenty books and
dozens of articles in the field of Torah, Halacha, and
emunah, security and the army, and on the social
issues of current import in Israeli society.
Rabbanit Dr. Malka Shenvald, Roshat Midrasha,
holds a BA in music, and advanced degrees in Biblical
Exegesis of the Period of the Middle Ages. After years
living in the Golan Heights, together with Rosh
HaYeshiva Rabbi Eliezer Shenvald, the family moved
to Modiin to establish both the Yeshivat Hesder and
Midreshet Modiin. She has been involved in education
for over thirty years, previously writing educational
textbooks, as well as administrating the Teacher
Training course for secondary schools at Talpiot
College. She currently heads the Bible department at
the Mofet Institute-Research Curriculum and Program
Development for Teacher Educators. Her major field
of research is the commentary of the Ramban on the
Torah.
Itzik Shafir, Executive Director, studied in Yeshivat
Ma’ale Adumim. In addition to being a certified
Mediator, Itzik holds a MA in Business Administration
and has extensive experience in managing
associations and organizations. Itzik, wife Miryam,
and family have lived in Modiin since the founding of
the city. He is executive Director of Nachalat Shay- the
Center for Jewish Identity, an organization which is
involved in numerous social benefit projects, as well
as enrichment programs of Jewish Identity in the
community.
Rabbi Baruch Felberman, Menahel, Studied in
Yeshivat Shaalvim and later received his BA in biology
and information science from Yeshiva University. He
continued his studies towards Rabbinic ordination
from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary
and his Masters from the Azrieli School of Jewish
Education of Yeshiva University. After ‘Making
Aliyah’ with his wife Alissa, he taught in numerous
educational programs and served in the infantry unit
of the IDF Central command .The family eventually
settled in Nof Ayalon/Shaalvim. Rabbi Felberman
was one of the founders and was director of Yeshivat
Shaarei Mevaseret Zion. He brings to Midreshet Modiin
experience gleaned from his years as Rosh Midrasha
MMY and Mashgiach Ruchani of Shaalvim for Women.
Most recently he finished his studies and licensing as a
tour guide by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
